GTA 6 has been delayed twice. It was first due in fall 2025, then moved to May 26, 2026, and finally to Thursday, November 19, 2026. Here's the full timeline, what Rockstar said each time, and whether another delay is likely three weeks before launch.

Fall 2025: the original window
As late as February 2025, Take-Two was still telling investors the game was "launching Fall of Calendar 2025". Three months later, that window was gone.
First delay: May 26, 2026
On May 2, 2025, Rockstar announced that GTA 6 would release on May 26, 2026. The message was short and apologetic. Rockstar said it was "very sorry that this is later than you expected" and that it needed "this extra time to deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve".
Second delay: November 19, 2026
Six months later, on November 6, 2025, Rockstar moved the game again, to Thursday, November 19, 2026. This time it said it was sorry "for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait", and that the extra months would let it "finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve".
Take-Two's stock fell nearly 8% in after-hours trading after the announcement. Polish was the only reason given: neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has pointed to specific production problems.
Will GTA 6 be delayed again?
There's no sign of it. Rockstar's official GTA VI page still lists November 19, 2026, and pre-loading on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S is scheduled to start on November 12. A delay at this stage, with pre-orders open and pre-load a fortnight away, would be extremely unusual. Talk of a 2027 date on social media isn't based on anything Rockstar or Take-Two has said.
